Abstract

This is a GUI MIDI Controller for the Drumstation Rack Drum Synthesizer Module by Novation. It features a graphical UI modelled after the original hardware design and supports all MIDI controllers to manipulate the various drum sounds. It also has a way to control the Program Change of the hardware.

It can send MIDI control changes, program changes and the main volume level. It can also receive controll changes and program changes from the hardware, so users are able to control the hardware in two ways simultaneously.

Basic Usage

The package has various files for different use cases:

• A device that has all MIDI controls in one layout (Main Controls, 808 Drum Kit, 909 Drum Kit). Use this in a single Ableton track to control the entire hardware device.
• Separate devices with individual MIDI control sections. Setup various separate tracks for each drum kit or for each of the drum sections.
• The Chain Racks are for renaming the Piano Roll in Ableton Live and are separatet in a similar manner as the MIDI controls.

You can find the single device on the Max for Live website or download the entire .zip-file with all the separate devices directly here. This device in .amxd file format is open for further editing in the Max for Live programming environment. The file is commented, but should be self-explanatory.
